    Fast Facts

    1. New Deletion Feature: Google Messages RCS users will soon gain the ability to delete messages for everyone in group chats, not just for themselves.

    2. Beta Testing: The feature was spotted in a public beta by a Reddit user, indicating that it’s being tested ahead of a broader rollout.

    3. RCS Update Compliance: This enhancement aligns with the RCS Universal Profile v2.7, finalized in June 2024, but its implementation across apps may take time.

    4. Limitations Noted: The feature isn’t available for all users or one-on-one chats yet, and older app versions may still display deleted messages.

‘Delete for Everyone’ Feature Enters Google Messages Beta

Google Messages is making strides in user experience with a highly anticipated feature. Users may soon delete messages for everyone in a group chat. This capability appeared in a public beta, generating excitement among Android enthusiasts.

A Reddit user shared a screenshot, revealing a pop-up menu that offers options to "Delete for everyone" or "Delete for me." Previously, the app only allowed users to delete messages for themselves. This advancement aligns with the Rich Communication Services (RCS) Universal Profile v2.7, which the GSMA announced in June 2024.

However, there are some important details to note. Not all beta testers have access to this feature yet. The Reddit user found this option only in a group chat of 12, indicating its limited rollout. Additionally, older app versions may still display deleted messages, reminding users to keep this in mind.

Overall, this update enhances communication flexibility. Users can now manage their messages more effectively, reducing the likelihood of misunderstandings. With technology continually evolving, features like this promise a more seamless messaging experience for everyone.
