Apple today unveiled AppleCare One, a new insurance plan that covers up to three devices under one subscription. For $20 a month, users can insure their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Plus, adding additional devices costs just $6 per month each.
This new offering comes as an evolution of AppleCare+, which began in 2011. Initially focused on the iPhone, Apple now extends coverage to all its products. So, options include the Mac, AirPods, Apple TV, and more.
AppleCare One brings essential benefits. Users receive unlimited repairs for accidental damage like drops or spills. Additionally, members gain access to round-the-clock support. Notably, theft and loss protection, once limited to iPhones, now includes iPads and Apple Watches as well.
Financially, Apple claims users could save up to $11 a month by bundling their coverage. Users should compare individual plan costs to understand potential savings before signing up.
Moreover, AppleCare One simplifies device coverage. Customers can add devices they already own, as long as those devices are under four years old and in good condition. To activate protection, owners may need a diagnostic check.
Another bonus: Trade-ins become hassle-free. When trading in a covered product, Apple automatically adjusts coverage to the new device. Unfortunately, AppleCare One does not offer an annual payment option. Instead, users pay monthly and can adjust their coverage as needed.
