    Top Highlights

    1. New Collaboration Feature: YouTube is testing a collaboration feature allowing creators to partner on videos, similar to Instagram and TikTok.

    2. Audience Sharing: This feature enables creators to be recommended to each other’s audiences, enhancing cross-promotion.

    3. Limited Rollout: Currently available to a small group of creators, with plans for broader availability in the future based on feedback.

    4. Invitation Process: Creators will invite collaborators, who must approve the request, ensuring controlled participation in video projects.

YouTube is testing a new collaboration feature that mirrors Instagram and TikTok’s popular approach. This innovation allows creators to add collaborators directly to their videos. Consequently, each creator can recommend their collaborators to their respective audiences.

Initially, the test only includes a select group of creators. However, YouTube plans to broaden the feature’s reach based on feedback from this initial group.

A recent screenshot highlights how the feature works. It displays the names of collaborators alongside the creator’s channel name. If there are multiple collaborators, viewers will see “…and more” next to the primary creator. Tapping on this brings up a list of all individuals involved in the project, complete with a Subscribe button next to each name.

Like its competitors, YouTube will likely require the primary creator to invite collaborators, who must then approve the invitation. This safeguards against random additions, preserving creators’ control over their content.

Yet, details about what information collaborators can access remain unclear. YouTube plans to consider the testers’ insights before deciding on a full rollout. Overall, this feature could foster greater community engagement and allow creators to reach new audiences seamlessly.
