Ayn Unveils Nostalgic Handheld: The Thor in Classic Game Boy Color Purple

Ayn has sparked excitement among gamers with its announcement of the Thor, a dual-screen handheld that brings back memories of the Nintendo DS. The device comes in a vibrant Game Boy Color purple, appealing to both nostalgia seekers and tech enthusiasts.

Recently, Ayn released a detailed spec sheet, revealing impressive features. The Thor lineup includes three models: the Thor Lite, Thor Pro, and Thor Max. The Lite starts at a preorder price of $249, while the Max offers advanced options for $429. Alongside the classic purple, the Thor will also be available in black, white, and a rainbow color scheme reminiscent of the SNES.

Transitioning to technical specifications, each model features a primary six-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The secondary screen, measuring 3.92 inches, offers a helpful 60Hz refresh rate. The Lite maxes out at 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, while enthusiasts can upgrade to 16GB RAM and a staggering 1TB storage in the Max model.

Moreover, the Pro and Max versions will run on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, delivering performance for demanding games. Meanwhile, the Lite model will utilize the Snapdragon 865 for a solid experience.

Battery life remains strong, with a 6,000 mAh capacity across all models. Each device operates on Android 13, enhancing usability with familiar software. Additionally, users can enjoy video output capabilities and a range of connectivity options, including USB-C, 3.5mm audio, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Ayn has also addressed potential durability issues by reinforcing the hinge and incorporating an active cooling system, ensuring a robust gaming experience.

The handheld market is heating up, with competitors like Ayaneo and Retroid also exploring dual-screen designs. However, the Thor stands out with its blend of modern specifications and nostalgic aesthetics.

Preorders for the Ayn Thor kick off on August 25 at 10:30 PM ET, with first shipments expected in mid-October. Gamers eagerly await this unique device, which promises to harmonize classic gaming vibes with cutting-edge technology.
