    2. Enhanced Camera Features: Upcoming Nest cameras will record in 2K resolution and introduce features like “Zoom and Crop,” along with improved local storage for footage during Wi-Fi outages.

    3. Design Consistency: The new Nest devices will maintain a familiar design, with internal upgrades and color options, reflecting Google’s strategy seen in the Pixel 10 lineup.

Google’s New Smart Home Hardware Revealed in Leaked Images

Google is gearing up to enhance its smart home lineup. Recent leaks show not only a new smart speaker but also a collection of familiar Nest products. This reveal aligns with Google’s vision to integrate Gemini technology into everyday homes.

The newly dubbed Google Home Speaker stands out as the most noticeable change. It features a smaller, rounder design compared to the Nest Audio, hinting it may replace the Nest Mini. Additionally, it will be available in vibrant colors: red, light green, black, and beige. It promises enhanced audio with “360-degree sound,” ensuring a better listening experience.

Transitioning to visuals, the updated Nest devices will retain their recognizable designs while offering upgraded functionalities. Notably, all new Nest cameras will record in 2K resolution. This upgrade significantly improves image quality compared to the previous 1080p standard. Furthermore, the Nest Cam Indoor will now come in fresh colors, including “Snow” (white), “Berry” (red), and “Hazel” (gray).

Innovations don’t stop there. The Nest Camera introduces a “Zoom and Crop” feature, allowing users to focus on specific areas within the camera’s view. If Wi-Fi connections falter, the camera can locally store up to an hour of footage. For added convenience, Google will extend video previews from one hour to three for detected events.

Meanwhile, the Nest Cam Outdoor will feature similar upgrades, albeit in fewer color options: Snow and Hazel. The Nest Doorbell follows suit, coming in Snow, Hazel, and “Linen” (beige).

Alongside hardware improvements, Google signals a shift in its subscription service. The current Nest Aware and Aware Plus names will transition to Google Home Premium and Google Home Premium Advanced. Exact details on pricing and the features linked to these subscriptions remain awaited.

Overall, Google’s latest smart home initiatives present exciting prospects for urban innovation. With advanced functionalities and appealing designs, these products aim to integrate seamlessly into modern lifestyles. As smart cities continue to evolve, technology like Gemini can enhance convenience and security in homes everywhere. Expect more details to emerge as Google prepares for the official rollout in October.
