    Summary Points

    1. End of Partnership: OnePlus and Hasselblad are discontinuing their five-year collaboration, focusing on OnePlus’s new camera system, the DetailMax Engine.

    2. Praise for Hasselblad: Despite the split, OnePlus praised Hasselblad for their commitment to precision and aesthetic, claiming its influence will persist in future cameras.

    3. Proprietary Development: OnePlus is developing its own imaging system, with CEO Pete Lau testing an early prototype aiming for high-quality smartphone photography.

    4. Oppo’s Continuation: OnePlus’s parent company, Oppo, will maintain its partnership with Hasselblad, recently extending their agreement for future mobile imaging innovations.

OnePlus and Hasselblad are parting ways after five years of collaboration. An official blog post confirmed the news, revealing that OnePlus is now developing its own camera system, called the DetailMax Engine. This new direction represents a significant shift for the smartphone maker.

Despite the split, OnePlus expressed appreciation for Hasselblad’s influence, praising the company’s “obsession with precision and detail.” The blog noted the countless nights spent in labs striving for the ideal balance of light and shadow. Hasselblad’s design ethos has become embedded in OnePlus’s imaging DNA, enriching the future of their cameras.

Interestingly, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau mentioned they are already testing prototypes of the DetailMax Engine. This system aims to deliver stunning clarity and realism in smartphone photography. The collaborative spirit of the partnership will linger, even as OnePlus forges its own path.

The partnership began with the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, and Hasselblad’s logo has become synonymous with OnePlus’s high-end models. However, reports suggest that the logo may fade from the OnePlus 14, rumored to be renamed the OnePlus 15 to sidestep bad luck associated with the number four in China.

While OnePlus moves forward independently, its parent company Oppo remains committed to Hasselblad. Earlier this year, Oppo extended its partnership, promising new advancements in mobile imaging that will enhance user experience across its devices.

This moment marks a new chapter, and tech enthusiasts are eager to see how OnePlus will innovate the smartphone photography landscape.
