    Essential Insights

TL;DR: Key Points on the Pixel Tablet Pen:

    1. Stylus Discovery: The unreleased Pixel Tablet Pen has appeared online, featuring a tail button intended for launching a floating notes app.

    2. Bluetooth Pairing Required: To activate the tail button, users must pair the stylus via Bluetooth and enable specific developer settings.

    3. Note App Limitation: The pen does not support Google Keep; users need to select alternative note-taking apps like Open Note.

    4. No Official Updates: Despite the stylus’s emergence, there are no announcements regarding a Pixel Tablet successor.

Unreleased Pixel Tablet Pen Reveals Innovative Note-Taking Feature

A new accessory has emerged for tech enthusiasts: the unreleased Pixel Tablet Pen. This stylus features a tail button that offers a surprising note-taking trick. Users can configure the button to launch Android’s default notes app in a floating bubble.

To use this feature, first pair the stylus with the Pixel Tablet via Bluetooth. Press and hold the tail button until it starts pulsing. Next, navigate to Bluetooth settings and select the Pixel Tablet Pen from the available devices.

However, the button doesn’t work out of the box. Users must enable a developer option. To do this, toggle the “force enable Notes role” in Settings. Then, reboot the device. After that, select a default notes app in the settings. Notably, Google Keep is not supported; options like Open Note or Notein work instead.

Once set up, the tail button operates as designed. A demonstration shows it effectively launching the notes app in a floating window. This enhancement may redefine how users approach note-taking on tablets.

While the Pixel Tablet itself launched in 2023, inquiries into a potential successor remain unanswered. For now, this unreleased pen offers a glimpse into the future of mobile productivity.
