SpaceX Launches 29 Starlink Satellites, Breaks Launch Record Again
On November 5, SpaceX achieved another milestone. A Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 8:31 p.m. EST. The mission successfully placed 29 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit.
This launch marked the 141st flight of the Falcon 9 in 2025, and it was the company’s 146th overall this year. The pace of launches continues to rise, with SpaceX steadily increasing its annual launch count since 2019. That year, the company conducted just 13 missions. Fast forward to 2024, and the count soared to 138.
Notably, Starlink, SpaceX’s internet satellite service, drives these launches. More than 100 missions this year alone focused on expanding the Starlink constellation. This project aims to provide reliable internet access worldwide, connecting underserved areas to technology.
For this launch, SpaceX used booster 1094, which has now completed five missions. Before this flight, it played a role in transporting astronauts to the International Space Station. After launch, the booster returned safely, landing on the “Just Read the Instructions” droneship in the Atlantic Ocean about 8.5 minutes post-liftoff.
Meanwhile, the Falcon 9’s upper stage successfully deployed the satellites approximately an hour after launch. These new additions join over 8,800 other spacecraft in the Starlink network.
As a result, SpaceX not only enhances internet connectivity but also leads advancements in space technology. This progress promises to improve the quality of life for many around the globe.
