    Quick Takeaways

    1. Startup Launch: HackerPulse has developed a platform aimed at improving engineering team productivity by identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies, thus supporting better team dynamics and project alignment.

    2. Integration and Insights: The dashboard integrates with popular development tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab) and analyzes varied data sources, allowing managers to visualize how engineering teams utilize their time without tracking individual output metrics.

    3. Target Market and Growth: Initially launched in July 2024, the platform specifically targets large engineering teams in sectors like telecom and manufacturing, recently attracting enterprise customers such as Preply and Coverflex.

    4. Funding and Future Goals: HackerPulse raised $1.5 million in seed funding to enhance sales and expand features, with a goal of achieving significant annual recurring revenue (ARR) before pursuing a Series A funding round.

HackerPulse aims to streamline engineering processes in enterprises, addressing long-standing challenges. Startups have sought to close operational gaps for years, seeking to enhance efficiency and reduce time wastage. Now, HackerPulse offers a fresh solution.

This San Francisco-based company provides a platform that connects with popular developer tools like GitHub and GitLab. Additionally, it integrates user analytics and revenue markers. By combining this data, HackerPulse enables team leaders to pinpoint where engineering efforts falter. This visibility helps identify productivity bottlenecks effectively.

Co-founder Gleb Braverman emphasizes that the platform isn’t about tracking individual performance metrics, such as lines of code written. Instead, it focuses on understanding team dynamics and identifying areas for improvement. “It’s very difficult to understand what exactly the engineering team is doing and where their time is focused,” Braverman notes. He points out that while the needed information exists, extracting it often requires significant time and effort.

HackerPulse originated as a tool for engineers, allowing them to monitor their own progress. This engineer-friendly design translates to a B2B solution that appeals to enterprises. Braverman’s inspiration came after hearing venture capitalist Bill Gurley suggest a need for disruption in employee ranking systems. This sparked his collaboration with Alberto Scherb and led to the platform’s launch.

Since its inception in July 2024, HackerPulse has attracted over 20,000 users. Feedback from early adopters indicated a broader demand for such a solution. Currently, HackerPulse targets sectors like telecommunications, manufacturing, and logistics — industries where technology adoption has often lagged.

Despite a crowded market, HackerPulse differentiates itself by focusing on operational optimization rather than just providing reports. Braverman believes their emphasis on team dynamics enhances their product’s value compared to competitors.

With strong demand, HackerPulse secured $1.5 million in a recent seed funding round. This support, from notable investors with backgrounds at Uber and Google, will propel their efforts to expand sales and develop product features.

The primary goal now involves fostering growth and refining user experience. HackerPulse seeks to establish a solid customer base before pursuing larger funding rounds. This approach illustrates a commitment to making engineering teams more effective, ultimately contributing to broader human progress through improved enterprise efficiency.
