Sundar Pichai Introduces Ultra 1.0 in Gemini Advanced

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, recently unveiled Ultra 1.0, the latest model in the Gemini Advanced suite. This development marks a significant milestone in artificial intelligence. For years, Google has invested heavily in AI. Pichai emphasized that AI remains the best way to enhance Search and other products.

Gemini Advanced offers new features for users. It builds on the company’s Search Generative Experience, known as SGE. Users can access SGE through Search Labs. Additionally, AI is now central to Google’s rapidly expanding Cloud and Workspace services. The subscription service, Google One, is also seeing growth, nearing 100 million subscribers.

In December, Google launched the Gemini era, which set a new benchmark across various AI tasks. Gemini is more than just models; it represents a comprehensive ecosystem. This ecosystem supports everyday products and provides tools for developers.

Ultra 1.0 stands out as the largest model yet. It surpasses human experts in Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU). This benchmark evaluates knowledge across 57 subjects, including math, history, and ethics. Today, Google takes another major step by integrating Ultra into its offerings.

Pichai introduced the enhanced version of Bard, now simply called Gemini. This model is available in 40 languages on the web and will soon be accessible via a new Gemini app on Android and the Google app on iOS.

With Ultra at its core, Gemini Advanced provides capabilities for reasoning, coding, and creative collaboration. Users can leverage it as a personal tutor or a creative partner. For example, it can adapt to individual learning styles or assist in planning business strategies.

Access to Gemini Advanced requires a subscription to the new Google One AI Premium plan. This plan combines Google’s top AI features into a single offering, building upon Google One’s established storage and feature benefits.

As AI continues to evolve, Google’s innovations offer users powerful tools for everyday challenges and creativity.
