Strategy Spends $450 Million to Acquire Extra 4,048 BTC

Michael Saylor’s business intelligence company, Strategy, has resumed its impressive Bitcoin acquisition. Recently, it spent nearly $450 million to purchase 4,048 BTC. This transaction occurred at an average price of $110,981 per Bitcoin. As a result, Strategy now holds a massive total of 636,505 BTC.

The firm’s overall investment in Bitcoin has reached approximately $47 billion. Currently, the value of this collection stands at roughly $70 billion, given Bitcoin’s price of just under $110,000. Notably, this acquisition has given Strategy a Bitcoin yield of 25.7% year-to-date as of 2025.

Saylor announced the purchase on September 2, after a brief delay due to Labor Day. Meanwhile, Japan-based Metaplanet made headlines as well, acquiring 1,009 BTC for $112 million. Their total now stands at 20,000 BTC.

In addition, SharpLink, a rising name in Ethereum, revealed its own substantial purchase. The company bought 39,008 ETH at an average price of $4,531. This brings its total holdings to 837,230 ETH, valued at $3.6 billion.

Their strategies highlight the evolving role of cryptocurrencies in the financial landscape and technology development.

As interest in digital assets continues to rise, more firms may follow this path. With substantial investments like these, the future of cryptocurrency remains an exciting and transformative topic.
