    Essential Insights

    1. Spending Insights: US adults plan to spend an average of $931 on tech for holidays, with millennials increasing that average to $1,070, prioritizing smartphones (26%) and laptops (23%).

    2. Early Shopping Trends: Half of shoppers intend to start purchasing tech devices earlier (August to October) to avoid price hikes and shortages, while the remaining plan to shop primarily in November.

    3. Main Concerns: Approximately 87% of shoppers express worries about rising prices, tariffs, and finding quality tech, advising diligent research and price tracking to secure the best deals.

    4. Best Time to Buy: Experts recommend November for optimal deals, particularly during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but caution that significant discounts on newer models may be limited.

Consumer Tech Spending Poised for a Surge

Holiday shopping may seem distant, but the tech-buying frenzy is underway. A recent CNET survey indicates that U.S. adults plan to spend an average of $931 on gadgets this season, with many shoppers eager to avoid rising prices and shortages. Nearly 59% of respondents express interest in purchasing tech devices, particularly smartphones and laptops. Interestingly, millennials intend to spend more, averaging $1,070 per person.

As Black Friday approaches, approximately half of consumers plan to shop early, often starting between August and October. Experts recommend comparing prices and researching best deals before committing to a purchase. Black Friday remains the most popular time to snag discounts, with 59% of shoppers planning to take advantage of those sales. However, not all shoppers feel at ease with their holiday purchases.

    Concerns Surround Holiday Tech Purchases

Nearly 90% of those surveyed express concerns about holiday tech shopping. Over half (52%) worry about fluctuating prices and tariffs affecting their desired gadgets. Other significant concerns include finding quality tech at an affordable rate (48%) and risking financial strain to make purchases (26%).

Despite these apprehensions, shopping early presents opportunities to sidestep potential pitfalls. Experts advise buyers to be cautious and compare options. Many recommend using tools to track price histories and verify discounts. With ongoing trends in tech demand, planning and smart shopping strategies can lead to successful holiday purchases this season.
