    Fast Facts

    1. Google released an unexpected second October 2025 software update for Pixel phones on October 30, following the regular monthly update on October 8.

    2. Nearly all Pixel devices eligible for the first October update are receiving this surprise release, including models from Pixel 7 to Pixel 10 series.

    3. Notably excluded from this second update are the Pixel Tablet and the Pixel 6 series, as well as older models like Pixel 5 and 4.

    4. While the update likely doesn’t introduce major new features, a more significant update is anticipated with the upcoming November Pixel Drop.

Is Your Pixel Getting Google’s Surprise Update? Here’s the Full List

On October 30, Google surprised Pixel users with a second update for October 2025. This unexpected release follows the usual monthly update that arrived earlier in the month on October 8. Google has not disclosed the specifics of this update, but two updates in one month always adds excitement for users.

Now, many are curious if their Pixel devices are included in this latest roll-out. Fortunately, nearly all Pixels that received the first update are eligible for the second. Here’s the full list of devices receiving the surprise update:

    • Pixel 7
    • Pixel 7 Pro
    • Pixel 7a
    • Pixel Fold
    • Pixel 8
    • Pixel 8 Pro
    • Pixel 8a
    • Pixel 9
    • Pixel 9 Pro/9 Pro XL
    • Pixel 9 Pro Fold
    • Pixel 9a
    • Pixel 10
    • Pixel 10 Pro/10 Pro XL
    • Pixel 10 Pro Fold

If you own any of the models listed above, look for the update by navigating through your Settings app: System → Software updates → System update → Check for update.

However, users of the Pixel Tablet and the Pixel 6 series will find themselves left out. Neither the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, nor Pixel 6a will receive this update, similar to the earlier October release. Additionally, any older models, like the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4, also miss out.

Although this surprise update may not introduce major new features, anticipation builds for the more significant updates expected in the upcoming November Pixel Drop. Overall, the frequent updates reflect Google’s commitment to enhancing user experience and security for Pixel owners.

Stay tuned for more developments, and happy updating!
