    Top Highlights

    1. Axplora is investing $60 million to expand its HPAPI manufacturing and R&D facilities in Italy, aiming to accelerate drug development and production.
    2. The new 4,500 m² hub will streamline workflows by co-locating development, analytics, and large-scale manufacturing, reducing delays and costs.
    3. The expansion supports the growing demand for HPAPI molecules, which now represent over 30% of the global drug pipeline.
    4. This strategic growth enables faster, more efficient pathways from early development to commercial manufacturing, helping pharma clients bring medicines to patients quicker.

Axplora Boosts Capacity with New Expansion at Italian Site

Axplora is making a significant move to grow its manufacturing power. The company is investing $60 million to expand its Farmabios facility in Gropello Cairoli, Italy. This project was announced last July and is now in progress. The new development includes a large three-story building of 4,500 square meters dedicated to research and labs. Its goal is to speed up drug development and increase production capacity for high-potency ingredients. Construction is ongoing, with plans to finish by February 2027. Meanwhile, the existing manufacturing lines are already working to support current projects, ensuring continuous progress.

New Facility Will Improve Speed and Efficiency in Drug Development

This expansion builds on previous upgrades across Axplora’s network, including a facility in France focusing on cytotoxic drugs. When the new site becomes operational, it will help scientists develop and test medicines faster. The facility will combine research, quality control, and production in one location, reducing delays and simplifying workflows. This integration allows for quicker scaling from initial development to manufacturing. The site will support over 30% of the global drug pipeline involving highly potent molecules. By streamlining the process, Axplora aims to help pharmaceutical companies bring vital medicines to patients more efficiently and at lower costs.
