    Quick Takeaways

    1. YouTube TV’s multiview feature now allows full customization, letting users build their own channel layouts from scratch, unlike the previous limited options.
    2. The update is rolling out gradually via server-side changes, so availability may vary across devices and regions.
    3. To create a custom multiview, users select channels from various categories and manually set up their preferred layouts through the app’s interface.
    4. The new feature enhances multiview flexibility, making it more powerful and user-friendly, but patience is needed as it becomes available to all users over time.

YouTube TV has introduced an exciting upgrade that makes watching TV more customizable. Now, users can create their own multiview setups. This feature enables viewers to watch up to four channels at once. Previously, multiview options were limited to preset combinations chosen by YouTube TV. However, the recent update allows users to personalize their viewing experience completely.

To access this new feature, start by playing a channel on the YouTube TV app. Next, open the playback controls and tap on the “Multiview” option. Then, select “Watch in multiview” and proceed to “Your multiview,” located above the pre-made options. Here, you can choose up to four channels from categories like sports, news, movies, and more. After selecting your channels, simply go back and click “Watch new multiview.” Within seconds, your customized dual, triple, or quad-screen setup will appear.

Furthermore, users can edit their multiview at any time. By showing the playback controls again, selecting “Change multiview,” and then “Your multiview,” they reopen the setup menu. There, it’s easy to add or remove channels to match interests or sporting events.

This upgrade is part of a gradual rollout, so not everyone will see it right away. Some users might find the feature available on certain devices first. For example, a smart TV app may include it before the Android app. Until the update reaches everyone, patience remains key.

Ultimately, this upgrade enhances how viewers enjoy live TV by giving more control. It aligns with broader trends toward smart home and city innovations. As urban areas adopt tech solutions, tools like customizable multiviews improve entertainment and accessibility. They not only make media more flexible but also illustrate the potential of digital innovation to transform everyday experiences.
