    2. Designed by Jony Ive, the interior features innovative, futuristic display aesthetics.
    3. The unique dashboard utilizes stacked OLED panels, blending digital and analogue elements.
    4. Samsung’s HIAA technology ensures high image quality around large display cutouts.

    A New Era of Dashboards

Ferrari just unveiled the Luce, its first all-electric car, and the design sparks strong opinions. Crafted by former Apple design chief Jony Ive, the car’s exterior captures attention, but not always in a positive way. However, the real magic happens inside. The interior boasts a dashboard that stands out in the automotive world, thanks to Samsung’s innovative OLED technology.

This dashboard features four OLED panels that redefine what a car can offer. The driver’s binnacle, which displays critical driving information, uses two stacked OLED panels. The bottom panel measures 12 inches, while the top boasts a 12.9-inch display. This design showcases three circular cutouts that allow glimpses of the panel beneath. Mechanical hands move between the two screens, combining a digital interface with an analogue feel. This unique setup evokes awe and sets a new standard in dashboard design.

    Innovation Meets Functionality

The other displays enhance the experience further. The central console includes a 10.1-inch OLED panel, also featuring mechanical hands. A 6.3-inch screen for rear passengers allows them to manage climate settings and check driving info. The blend of physical buttons for adjusting fan speed and seat heating enriches the user interface, making it engaging and intuitive.

Samsung’s HIAA technology deserves special mention. Creating large cutouts in active display areas without compromising image quality is a formidable challenge. The Luce’s binnacle hole measures about 100mm, dwarfing the small front camera openings common in smartphones. Samsung’s solution optimizes signal design for uniformity and stability across the display.

Seeing this technology in action during demos reveals sharp, crisp visuals. The Ferrari Luce demonstrates how dashboard design can captivate car enthusiasts and tech aficionados alike. As automotive technology continues to evolve, the blend of aesthetic appeal and practical functionality presents an exciting future for vehicle interiors.
