    Top Highlights

    1. Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.
    2. It sports an Exynos 2500 chip, 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage.
    3. Cameras are familiar: 50MP main, ultrawide, and 8MP telephoto lenses.
    4. Battery remains 4,900mAh with 45W charging, possibly using silicon-carbon tech.

    Same Old Game, Different Year

The Galaxy S26 FE’s specs are out, and Samsung is sticking to its familiar formula. The leaks reveal a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone offers a bright screen with a peak brightness of 1,900 nits. Colors include Graphite, Pistachio, and Blueberry. However, the core features stay the same. It uses an older Exynos 2500 chip paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage options are 128GB or 256GB. Many of these details are similar to last year’s Galaxy S25 FE, showing little innovation.

The cameras also follow past designs. The main shooter is 50MP with optical image stabilization. There is an ultrawide lens and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The front camera remains 12MP. Leaks suggest Samsung is recycling camera hardware from the previous model. Most of the specs seem like an upgrade only in name, not in technology or quality.

Despite this, Samsung is improving the battery. The Galaxy S26 FE will have a 4,900mAh capacity and support 45W charging. The company might have used silicon-carbon technology for the battery. This change could make the device slimmer without increasing the battery size. Samsung’s approach resembles what it did with foldables—using newer tech to keep devices slim and lightweight, not necessarily more powerful.

Is It Justified to Pay More?

The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to cost €799 in Europe, about €50 more than the Galaxy S25 FE. This slight price increase raises questions. Considering the unchanged older processor, familiar cameras, and similar battery specs, is the price hike justified? Some might say yes, because inflation and component costs are rising. Samsung admits future devices may cost more.

Others could argue that consumers want more innovation for their money. An upgrade should include better performance, camera quality, or battery life. However, Samsung seems content to repackage last year’s technology with minor tweaks. The company is offering a familiar device, not a groundbreaking upgrade. It reflects a broader industry trend: manufacturers push out new models that look different but don’t always deliver significant improvements. Consumers must decide if paying a premium for a recycled design is worth it.
