    Essential Insights

    1. Apple will pay $250 million in a class action settlement over misleading claims about its Siri AI features, with eligible US customers potentially receiving up to $95 per device.
    2. The settlement addresses claims that Apple overhyped Siri’s capabilities to boost iPhone sales, though Apple denies any wrongdoing.
    3. To claim your share, visit smartphoneaisettlement.com before December 21, and provide your iPhone serial number or Apple ID, choosing your preferred payout method.
    4. The revamped Siri is now available on iOS 27 for newer iPhones, but previous purchasers of certain iPhone 15 and 16 models from June 10, 2024, to March 29, 2025, may still be eligible for compensation.

Understanding the Settlement and Your Eligibility

In May, Apple agreed to pay $250 million over claims it exaggerated Siri’s features. Many customers feel they didn’t get what was promised. If you bought an iPhone 15 or 16 between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, you might qualify for a cash refund. Specifically, owners of newer iPhones can potentially receive up to $95 per device. While the new Siri AI is now available on iOS 27, this settlement applies to past purchases. Apple states it denies wrongdoing, but the payout aims to settle disputes over marketing claims. To check if you’re eligible, gather your device info and review qualifying dates carefully.

    How to File Your Claim

Start by visiting the official settlement website: smartphoneaisettlement.com. Once there, click the blue “File A Claim” button in the top corner. You will need either your iPhone’s serial number or Apple ID, but don’t worry if you don’t have a Claim ID or PIN yet. To find your serial number, go to Settings > General > About on your iPhone. Then, type your info into the claim form. You can choose how you want to receive your payout—PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer, or a paper check. If you have multiple eligible devices, you will need to fill out the form for each one separately. Remember, you must file your claim by December 21.

What to Expect During and After the Process

Once you submit your claim, Apple reviews the information. If approved, you could receive a check or electronic payment depending on your choice. The payout amount depends on how many qualifying devices you have. Keep in mind, this settlement covers only past purchases, not future updates. While the new Siri AI is now fully functional on recent iPhones, the settlement mainly addresses earlier marketing claims. Filing your claim is straightforward, and doing so ensures you take your shot at a potential cash reward. Don’t miss the deadline—act soon to claim your share.
