Clicks Unveils First Smartphone and Power Keyboard at CES 2026
At CES 2026, Clicks announced an ambitious entry into the smartphone market. The company introduced the Clicks Communicator, a device designed for “communication, not consumption.” It aims to function as a secondary phone primarily for messaging. This innovative approach taps into a growing trend favoring minimalist technology.
The Communicator boasts a 4-inch OLED display and a tactile keyboard reminiscent of classic devices. It also includes a 50MP rear camera and a 24MP front camera, although Clicks emphasizes its role as a secondary device, leaving extensive media capture to users’ primary smartphones. Additionally, it features a 3.5mm headphone jack and expandable storage up to 2TB, catering to users who prefer flexibility.
Equipped with Android 16, the Communicator supports hardware-level encryption, ensuring security for messaging. It also includes NFC for Google Pay, plus Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Its 4,000 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C or wireless, offering modern conveniences. A unique fingerprint sensor embedded in the spacebar adds a layer of practicality.
Despite its secondary-device designation, interest in the Communicator remains high. It appeals particularly to those drawn to a simpler digital life, distancing themselves from the noise of social media. However, potential buyers should consider the challenges of maintaining two phone plans for separate numbers.
In addition to the smartphone, Clicks will also bring the Power Keyboard to CES. This versatile keyboard features a QWERTY layout and connects via MagSafe or Qi2. It includes a built-in 2,150 mAh battery to charge smartphones on the go, extending functionality while retaining a nostalgic feel. Compatibility with both iOS and Android devices, as well as tablets and smart TVs, showcases its broad appeal.
Pre-orders for the Communicator are now available for $399, with a price increase to $499 on February 27. The Power Keyboard will launch in the spring, with early-bird pricing set at $80. This blend of nostalgia and modern tech positions Clicks as an exciting player in the evolving smartphone landscape.
