    Quick Takeaways

    1. European Charm: Belmont Park Village offers a unique, serene shopping experience reminiscent of European open-air plazas, focusing on designer merchandise at substantial discounts without the typical outlet feel.

    2. Diverse Brand Range: The center features off-price boutiques from prestigious brands like Missoni, Hugo Boss, and Thom Browne, with a significant presence of Italian labels, currently hosting about 40 of a planned 150 shops.

    3. Luxury & Sustainability: Celebrating a partnership with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Belmont Park Village emphasizes sustainability in fashion while providing an educational shopping experience that respects luxury brand identities.

    4. Strategic Location and Growth: Located near UBS Arena and accessible by public transport, Belmont Park Village aims for a grand opening in 2027, with projected sales densities comparable to top European outlets and a focus on attracting both locals and international visitors.

Belmont Park Village Exudes European Elegance in Off-Price Shopping

Belmont Park Village opened recently in Elmont, N.Y., showcasing a unique European vibe. Unlike typical American malls, its pedestrian-only, open-air design features beautifully landscaped plazas. Shoppers experience a serene atmosphere as they browse upscale shops.

Notably, the 340,000-square-foot center offers a blend of luxury and affordability. Stores display seasonal merchandise from previous years at discounts of 30 to 65 percent. However, the pricing remains subtle, avoiding large signs. This approach enhances the shopping experience, making it feel more premium.

Belmont Park Village marks the first North American entry in The Bicester Collection, known for its off-price luxury shopping centers. Located just 19 miles from Manhattan, it is easily accessible via the Long Island Railroad. The center serves as a key player in the area’s redevelopment, alongside the recently opened UBS Arena.

Shoppers can explore boutiques from celebrated brands like Missoni and Aquazzura, alongside must-haves from Hugo Boss and Valentino. About 40 shops currently operate, with plans for over 150 in total. One-third of the stores carry Italian labels, increasing the European flair of this destination.

Recently, the center celebrated a partnership between Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and The Bicester Collection. Leaders like Carlo Capasa highlighted a shared commitment to sustainable luxury. “We safeguard our heritage while embracing the future,” he stated.

Scott Malkin, founder of The Bicester Collection, expressed excitement about Belmont’s unique offerings. He noted that this shopping environment promotes a compelling customer experience, blending high-quality products with outstanding service. Malkin emphasized that physical shopping remains crucial in a digital age.

Foot traffic has been encouraging, even in its soft-opening phase. Belmont Park Village attracted about 6,000 visitors weekly, with expectations to increase substantially. This indicates a strong market interest, possibly bolstered by nearby attractions like UBS Arena.

The center aims to target not just local shoppers but also international visitors. Malkin pointed out that the goal is to integrate shopping with nearby transport links and entertainment venues.

Technology plays an essential role at Belmont Park Village. The center implements hands-free shopping, allowing customers to focus on their experience without worrying about bags. Future plans may include partnerships with airlines for convenient delivery services, enhancing the customer shopping journey.

This innovative retail model continues to evolve. Brands find themselves balancing luxury identity and accessible pricing in a competitive landscape. By cultivating a distinctive shopping environment, Belmont Park Village sets a new standard for upscale off-price retail.

As it develops, shoppers can expect a blend of heritage and modern retail trends. This center not only serves its immediate community but also stands as a beacon for future shopping experiences in North America.
