On your iPhone, go to Settings > Apps > Messages. Look for RCS Messaging and ensure it’s toggled on, usually shown in green. Android users should select “HD+ Original Quality” before sending media. This option, available in Google Messages, stops the app from compressing pictures, keeping their original clarity.

    Using RCS makes sharing images across Android and iPhone much clearer. It ensures everyone gets sharp, vibrant pictures, just as they appeared on the sender’s device. This upgrade enhances the experience and saves time that would otherwise be spent resending media in better quality. The process feels smoother and more unified now, thanks to these newer features.

    Sharing Larger Files and Videos Without Losing Quality

    Images are great, but videos and large files can still pose challenges. Compression can reduce their quality, especially over standard messaging systems. Plus, RCS has a size limit — usually 100MB — which isn’t enough for longer videos or big images.

    Luckily, there are practical solutions to this issue. For example, Google Photos allows you to share high-resolution images easily. When you use the app, you can choose “Send in Google Photos” and share it with another Google Photos user. This method keeps the original quality intact and avoids size restrictions.

    Another useful tool is Google Drive. It helps you upload large videos or files and then share a link with friends and family. It’s simple and keeps the media at full quality.

    Android’s Quick Share feature now supports AirDrop-like sharing with iPhones. Pixel phones from the 8a model onward and many Samsung Galaxy phones can use Quick Share to send files directly. If your Android device isn’t compatible, you can tap “Use QR Code” in Quick Share. The iPhone user scans the code, and the transfer begins. Though this method has limited range, it’s very effective for nearby sharing.

    Using these tools ensures that large media files stay sharp, clear, and true to the original. It empowers users on both platforms to share their best content without losing any detail or resolution.
