Sonos Introduces Amp Multi for Complex Residential Installations

Sonos has launched its first product of 2026, the Amp Multi. This new amplifier targets owners of large or complicated residential spaces. It offers a professional-grade solution for high-end audio needs.

The Amp Multi boasts eight outputs, each delivering 125 watts of power. Additionally, it features four configurable zones. Each channel can support up to three Sonos Architectural speakers. In simpler terms, this product provides a significant audio boost, far exceeding what most homes require. For those living in apartments, the standard Sonos Amp might suffice.

Currently, Sonos plans to release the Amp Multi “in the coming months.” However, the company has not announced pricing information. Given the luxury market this product aims to attract, buyers can expect it to surpass the $800 price tag of the standard Sonos Amp.

Sonos has faced challenges recently, particularly after a poorly received app redesign in 2024. These issues led to layoffs and the departure of the CEO. Tom Conrad, who initially stepped in as temporary chief executive, now holds the position permanently. As the company stabilizes, customers look forward to positive developments on the horizon.

The introduction of the Amp Multi underscores the potential for audio innovation in urban settings. As cities embrace smart technology, products like this could enhance everyday life. With high-quality sound and customized configurations, Sonos aims to meet the demands of modern homeowners.
