More certified smart-city products
The Talq Consortium has announced new certifications, bringing its total to 88 products. Four gateways certified in October include one or both of two new profiles developed with the DALI Alliance and Zhaga Consortium.
A clearer path for data
The profiles connect Zhaga-D4i luminaires and sensors through the Talq interface. As a result, their data can flow into central management software in a consistent format. This can make it easier for cities to manage lighting assets and related services.
Practical promise, with limits
For residents, better-connected streetlights and sensors could support more responsive city services. However, certification does not guarantee that every city will adopt the products or see immediate savings. It does show that new standards are moving into real implementations. The consortium will attend Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona from Nov. 3-5, 2026.
