    Quick Takeaways

    1. Enhanced Group Calling: WhatsApp now allows users to schedule team calls directly in the app, making it easier to organize meetings in advance.

    2. Meeting Management: Users can view upcoming meetings, access attendees lists, and receive notifications when participants join the call.

    3. Integration with Calendars: Call links can be added to calendar apps, ensuring seamless meeting management and reminders for all members.

    4. New Engagement Features: The addition of a “raise your hand” option and emoji reactions aligns WhatsApp with standard video conferencing tools like Zoom and Google Meet.

WhatsApp Introduces Group Call Scheduling Features

WhatsApp has made a significant upgrade aimed at enhancing workplace communication. On Thursday, the Meta-owned platform unveiled new features for group calls. Now, users can schedule team calls in advance—a game changer for collaboration.

Starting today, navigate to the Calls tab. There, you will find a + button. By selecting “Schedule call,” you can easily set up future meetings. Additionally, this feature allows you to invite colleagues or friends directly.

Users can also manage their upcoming meetings within the same Calls tab. It includes an attendees list and call links to streamline participation. Link creators receive notifications whenever someone joins the call, ensuring everyone stays connected. These links can also be integrated into your calendar app, making it more convenient to keep track of appointments.

WhatsApp hasn’t stopped there. It has rolled out a “raise your hand” feature. This lets participants signal when they wish to speak, promoting organized discussions. Moreover, users can send emoji reactions—adding a lively element to meetings. While these features resemble those of Zoom or Google Meet, they bring a fresh approach to WhatsApp, which started as an instant messaging app in 2009.

Overall, WhatsApp’s new features mark a thoughtful shift towards enhancing collaborative work environments. By introducing scheduling, notifications, and interactive tools, WhatsApp strengthens its position as a modern communications platform. As the landscape of online communication continues to evolve, these updates keep WhatsApp relevant and user-friendly for everyone.
