SpaceX is set to break a record today as it launches its 133rd Falcon 9 mission of 2025. This historic event departs from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base at 10:16 a.m. EDT (1416 GMT; 7:16 a.m. local time). The Falcon 9 rocket will carry 28 Starlink internet satellites into low Earth orbit.
Watchers can tune in live on SpaceX’s website and X account. Streaming begins about five minutes prior to liftoff. Moreover, today’s launch marks the 138th overall for SpaceX in 2025, matching last year’s milestone.
In 2023, SpaceX achieved 132 Falcon 9 flights. The company also completed two Falcon Heavy missions and several Starship tests. Notably, the Falcon Heavy has yet to launch in 2025, as SpaceX focuses on developing its Starship program.
If all goes smoothly, the Falcon 9’s first stage will return to Earth about 8.5 minutes post-liftoff.
