    Top Highlights

    1. Innovative MCUs: Renesas Electronics has launched the RA6W1 and RA6W2 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 microcontrollers, catering to the rising demand for low-power, always-connected IoT devices across various sectors like smart home and healthcare.

    2. Ultra-Low Power Consumption: These MCUs feature advanced sleep modes, consuming as little as 200nA, allowing continuous connectivity while optimizing battery life and meeting energy efficiency standards.

    3. Scalable Architecture: Built on the Arm Cortex-M33 core, the RA6W1 and RA6W2 support a scalable platform, enabling cost-effective standalone IoT applications and seamless software reuse across the RA MCU family.

    4. Robust Connectivity and Security: With certified wireless modules and advanced security features, including AES-256 encryption and Matter certification, these solutions ensure secure, reliable connections for diverse IoT applications while simplifying system design.

Newest Wi-Fi 6 MCUs for Smart Homes

Renesas Electronics Corporation has launched a groundbreaking set of dual-band microcontrollers—the RA6W1 and RA6W2. These devices support Wi-Fi 6, with the latter also integrating Bluetooth Low Energy (LE). They meet the increasing demand for constant connectivity in various applications, including smart homes and medical devices. With built-in antennas and pre-validated RF connectivity, these MCUs simplify the design process for developers.

Additionally, these microcontrollers optimize power consumption. They feature Target Wake Time (TWT), which allows devices to remain connected while conserving energy. As a result, applications like smart locks or environmental sensors can function efficiently, enhancing user experience without compromising battery life.

    Streamlined Development and Robust Security

Both the RA6W1 and RA6W2 MCUs deliver exceptional performance with high-speed connectivity across 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. As they automatically select the best band, these devices ensure a stable connection, crucial in densely populated areas. Moreover, with built-in AES-256 encryption and secure boot, they prioritize data security and interoperability across various smart home platforms.

Renesas presents a flexible approach, allowing users to design standalone devices or opt for complete integrated modules. The new offerings promise to reduce the complexity of wireless onboarding, accelerating time to market. Customers can look forward to more than 400 validated system architectures through Renesas’ “Winning Combinations” initiative, facilitating faster product development.
