    Fast Facts

    1. No Android foldable is an exact iPhone Duo match: each differs in size, cameras, durability, or features.
    2. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the closest overall: its 7.6-inch inner screen and dual 50MP rear cameras most closely align with the Duo.
    3. The alternatives lead in specific areas: Google’s Pixel 11 Pro Fold matches the Duo’s IP68 rating, while Motorola’s Razr Fold offers the biggest battery and high-resolution cameras.
    4. Prices are similar, but availability varies: the Android models start at $1,899.99 versus the Duo’s $1,999.99; Xiaomi’s similarly sized 18 Fold isn’t sold widely in the US.

Which Android Phone Is the Closest Equivalent to the iPhone Duo?

Apple’s first foldable phone enters a market that Android makers have shaped for years. That head start gives shoppers several alternatives. Yet no single Android phone matches the iPhone Duo in every way.

Among the major foldables sold in the U.S., Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes closest overall. Still, Google and Motorola make compelling cases, especially for shoppers who value durability, camera options or battery capacity. The right choice depends on which trade-offs matter most.

Samsung matches the Duo’s size most closely

Book-style foldables open into small tablets. That larger interior screen suits multitasking, reading and watching shows. The iPhone Duo, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold and Motorola Razr Fold all follow this design.

The Duo’s 7.6-inch inner display puts it near the center of the group. Samsung matches that size, while its 5.5-inch cover screen comes close to the Duo’s 5.4-inch outer display. That makes the Galaxy Z Fold 8 the most natural fit for someone seeking a similar screen experience.

Google and Motorola go bigger. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold pairs an 8-inch inner display with a 6.5-inch cover screen. Motorola’s Razr Fold stretches those measurements to nearly 8.1 inches and 6.6 inches. Those larger screens offer more room, though they also make the phones feel less like direct Duo counterparts.

Weight changes the comparison. At 9 ounces, the Duo outweighs all three Android rivals. Samsung’s foldable weighs 7.09 ounces. Google’s weighs 8.4 ounces, and Motorola’s weighs 8.6 ounces. So the Duo’s closest match by screen size does not match its heft.

Camera specifications also favor different phones in different ways. The Duo pairs two 48-megapixel rear cameras with a 12-megapixel Center Stage front camera. Samsung steps up to two 50-megapixel rear cameras, but its front camera has 10 megapixels. Google offers a 48-megapixel main camera and adds a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens, a feature the Duo lacks.

Motorola leads on raw resolution. It puts 50-megapixel sensors in its main, ultrawide and telephoto cameras, plus a 20-megapixel cover selfie camera. However, megapixel counts alone do not determine photo quality. They describe one part of a camera system, not the full experience.

Durability, battery and price shift the balance

A foldable phone costs a lot, so durability matters. Google stands out here. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold matches the Duo’s IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Samsung carries an IP48 rating, while Motorola lists IP48/IP49. That gives Google the clearest advantage for buyers who put protection high on their checklist.

Battery comparisons need more caution. Apple says the Duo can last up to 24 hours of mixed use, but it has not disclosed the battery’s capacity. Samsung lists a 4,800-milliamp-hour battery, and Google lists 4,806 milliamp-hours. Motorola goes larger with a 6,000-milliamp-hour battery, which the company calls the largest in a foldable. Capacity alone cannot confirm real-world battery life, so shoppers should treat those numbers as context rather than a direct runtime ranking.

Price makes the choice even tighter. The Duo starts at $1,999.99 with 256 gigabytes of storage. Samsung and Google each start at $1,899.99 with the same capacity. Motorola charges $1,899.99 but includes 512 gigabytes at that starting price. That gives Motorola an appealing storage advantage for the money.

Samsung and Google also offer 1-terabyte models, which brings them close to Apple’s storage range. Neither reaches the Duo’s 2-terabyte option. For people who keep large photo libraries or download lots of video, that difference may matter.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 leads, but the best fit depends on priorities

For a U.S. shopper who wants an Android phone that feels most like the Duo on paper, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the strongest match. Its 7.6-inch inner display mirrors Apple’s, and its 5.5-inch cover screen sits just above the Duo’s 5.4-inch panel. Samsung also offers two 50-megapixel rear cameras and a lower starting price.

That does not make it the automatic winner. Google offers a telephoto camera and the same IP68 rating as Apple. Motorola brings the largest battery, a high-resolution camera setup and more storage at its starting price. Each phone makes a different argument for its nearly $1,900 cost.

There is also Xiaomi’s 18 Fold. Xiaomi announced the book-style phone shortly before the Duo, with a 7.68-inch inner display and a 5.38-inch outer screen. Those dimensions closely track both Apple’s and Samsung’s designs. However, Xiaomi does not generally sell its phones in the United States, which limits its appeal for American buyers.

So, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes closest to the iPhone Duo overall, especially in screen size and broad design. But “closest” does not mean “best for everyone.” Compare protection, camera features, storage and how much screen you want to carry. Then choose the foldable that fits your daily habits—not just the one with the most familiar measurements.
