    Fast Facts

    1. Despite high usage, many teens are skeptical of AI, with 37% cringing at AI-created content and over half worried about misinformation and deepfakes.
    2. While teens see potential benefits in AI, over 25% think it will negatively impact society, citing job loss and environmental issues.
    3. Unlike previous tech trends, kids are turned off by AI’s aggressive marketing by adults and feel they’re unfairly bearing its disruptive consequences.
    4. Many students and parents express distrust and annoyance toward AI, often dismissing it as “BS” and criticizing the art it produces.

    Growing Skepticism Toward AI

Many kids now question the hype around artificial intelligence (AI). While some use chatbots for homework or fun, others are starting to see the tech as unappealing. Surveys show that about 37% of teens cringe when they see AI-created music or videos. Also, over half worry about fake content and misinformation. Even though AI is popular, these mixed feelings reveal that not all young people are convinced AI is cool or helpful. They are aware of both its potential and its risks.

    Complex Feelings About AI’s Impact

Young people often embrace new technology quickly. However, with AI, their support is cautious. Many teens believe AI could be good for them personally but worry about society’s future. They fear job losses, less critical thinking, and environmental damage. Interestingly, they are more critical of AI because adults push it hard. They see their generation as the ones who will face the biggest changes caused by AI. This awareness leads to skepticism and even distrust.

    Reasons Behind the Dislike

Some kids dislike AI because they feel it’s being forced on them. Adults and companies promote it heavily. As a result, teens roll their eyes. They also notice the flaws in AI-generated art and content. Many say they don’t trust the tech, calling some AI creations “BS.” Even students who use AI admit they worry about its effects. They are torn between using the tools and questioning their value. This distrust shows a new challenge for AI’s widespread adoption.
