Panaji: The state government appointed Ankit Yadav as the North Goa collector on Friday. Yadav, a 2018 batch IAS officer, takes over from Yashaswini B. Yashaswini has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh. This change marks a fresh start as Yadav steps into a crucial role in the region.
In a related development, Sandip Jacques now serves as the chief executive officer of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd (IPSCDL). Jacques, who previously held the position of revenue secretary, replaces Sanjit Rodrigues. Rodrigues recently transferred to Ladakh under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Both appointments take effect immediately, reflecting the state’s commitment to effective governance.
Challenges Ahead for Smart City Projects
Jacques faces significant challenges in his new position. As the CEO of IPSCDL, he oversees multiple smart city projects. The original deadline for these initiatives lapsed in March, yet several remain incomplete. This situation necessitates urgent action to enhance infrastructure and improve quality of life in Goa.
Additionally, Dnyaneshwar Y Salelkar has taken on the role of chief engineer for the irrigation project within the water resources department. This appointment follows the retirement of Pramod Badami. As the state’s leadership shifts, the focus remains on advancing the development agenda for a sustainable and tech-savvy future in Goa.
