Venom Foundation Reaches 150k TPS in Stress Test, Preps for 2025 Mainnet Upgrade
Abu Dhabi, UAE, May 23, 2025 – The Venom Foundation announced a significant milestone today. It has completed a closed-network stress test demonstrating its blockchain can handle 150,000 transactions per second (TPS). Moreover, it finalizes transfers in under three seconds.
The upcoming mainnet upgrade is scheduled for Q3 2025. This enhancement elevates Venom’s status as one of the most efficient public blockchains currently available. "Throughput only matters if it can remain reliable under pressure," said Christopher Louis, CEO of Venom. His remarks highlight the system’s robustness under enterprise-scale workloads without increasing fees or sacrificing decentralization.
This achievement holds importance for various sectors. For payment providers and exchanges, speed at scale is crucial. Venom employs a DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph)-based mempool consensus, allowing for potential speeds exceeding 400,000 TPS in synthetic benchmarks. Additionally, the technology prevents front-running and other malicious exploits, ensuring fair order flow for all users.
Venom’s architecture also allows for simultaneous execution of smart contracts. This feature benefits high-volume decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and microtransactions. Security remains a priority, with validators producing identical outputs, ensuring that finality occurs with just 2n + 1 signatures, which greatly reduces the chance of forks.
The path to production includes several critical phases. The testnet will launch in Q2 2025, followed by a mainnet migration that involves an in-place hard fork. By Q4 2025, the ecosystem will expand further with cross-chain bridges and feature-complete Software Development Kits (SDKs).
Transparency is key for the Venom Foundation. All raw data, node configurations, and test scripts will be shared on their public GitHub. Independent auditors are currently verifying the security and performance aspects of the upcoming upgrade.
The Venom Foundation, based in Abu Dhabi, consists of a dedicated team focused on the advancement of the Venom blockchain. Its community-driven, non-profit approach helps foster research and development. This innovative upgrade not only underscores the foundation’s commitment to speed and efficiency but also positions Venom as a leader in blockchain technology.
