    Summary Points

    1. Innovative Partnership: Quantum Dice and Thales have launched a QRNG-backed Hardware Security Module (HSM), enabling real-time verification and quantification of cryptographic key security for enterprise customers.

    2. Enhanced Security: The integration combines Thales Luna HSM’s capabilities with Quantum Dice’s Quantum Entropy-as-a-Service (QEaaS) and patented DISC protocol, ensuring robust protection and auditability for transitioning to post-quantum security.

    3. Critical for Post-Quantum Readiness: The solution addresses the urgent need for strong cryptographic defenses amid the rise of quantum computing, emphasizing the importance of high-quality randomness in key generation.

    4. Real-Time Monitoring: Continuous live entropy measurement offers Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) added assurance through enhanced auditability, ensuring encryption keys are quantum-resilient and compliant with evolving standards.

Quantum Dice and Thales Introduce QRNG-Backed HSM for Enhanced Security

In a significant development for cybersecurity, Quantum Dice and Thales have partnered to launch a Hardware Security Module (HSM) backed by Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) technology. This integration offers enterprise customers a way to bolster their cryptographic defenses, particularly in light of the advancements in quantum computing.

Quantum Dice, a spin-out from the University of Oxford, has developed a patented source-device independent self-certification protocol known as DISC. This technology allows organizations to verify their cryptographic keys’ security in real-time. By combining Quantum Dice’s QRNG with Thales’ Luna HSM, developers can ensure robust protection while enabling a smooth transition to post-quantum security.

The shift to post-quantum security requires increased randomness, or entropy, which is vital for creating cryptographic keys. The new HSM solution not only improves the quantity of randomness but also enhances its quality, directly impacting encryption strength.

Ksheerabdhi Krishna, Thales’ VP of Product Marketing, emphasized the importance of advanced random number generation. He noted, “At Thales, we have integrated Quantum Dice’s DISC QRNG with our Luna HSMs to leverage its verifiable security advantages for our customers.”

Meanwhile, Ramy Shelbaya, CEO of Quantum Dice, expressed excitement about the collaboration. “The integration of our QRNG solutions with Thales’ Luna HSM is an important step forward in strengthening cybersecurity for enterprises globally,” he said.

Wenmiao Yu, co-founder and director of business development at Quantum Dice, highlighted the added layer of security for Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) teams. “Continuous live monitoring of the QRNG enhances auditability for encryption keys,” Yu explained.

As organizations navigate the transition to post-quantum security, this QRNG-backed HSM provides a reliable foundation. By integrating high-quality entropy, companies can ensure their encryption keys remain resilient against future quantum threats.
