    Beginning on November 1, the contract spans five years, with options to extend through 2035. The total estimated value could reach $3.6 billion. Leidos, Inc. from Reston, Virginia, joins as a subcontractor, contributing to various programs vital for human space exploration.

    Services under this contract will enhance key NASA initiatives. These include the Human Research Program, the International Space Station Program, the Commercial Crew Program, and the Artemis campaign. Specifically, the contract aims to ensure crew health, safety, and performance. Additionally, it will focus on occupational health services and vital research to mitigate risks for future space crews.

    The Human Health and Performance Directorate takes the lead in safeguarding astronaut health and improving mission performance. Its vision emphasizes humans living and thriving in space, from the Moon to Mars. Through advanced research and technology, this contract promises to enhance the quality of life not only for astronauts but also for generations to come.
