Metrospeed Showcases Progress on Metro Smart City Project
Metrospeed Group actively advances its Metro Smart City Project while emphasizing transparency and community impact. On August 21, 2025, the company hosted Chevron Nigeria Limited interns for an exclusive tour of the construction site. This event highlighted key milestones in development and the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
Currently, the first phase of land reclamation approaches completion. China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Ltd manages this phase, achieving a significant milestone with over 25 hectares reclaimed. Project Manager Peter Young spoke about the efficiency of operations, showcasing advanced equipment and local partnerships: “We use top-class equipment like bulldozers, excavators, and dredging machines. Local partnerships have increased productivity, scaling to about 40–50 trips per day.”
Empowering the Next Generation
Metrospeed aims to empower aspiring professionals through initiatives like this project tour. Emike Ntiok, Head of Marketing and Sales, shared the company’s commitment to knowledge-sharing. “At Metro Smart City, our project serves a bigger purpose than infrastructure alone. We strive to inspire young talents in fields such as real estate, construction, and technology.”
Interns highlighted the eye-opening experience of the tour, expressing excitement and inspiration from the scale of the project. Earlier this year, Metrospeed signed a partnership with the Chevron Employees Multipurpose Cooperative Society to accelerate the development of Metro Smart City.
The project will unfold in two phases. Phase One focuses on land reclamation, while the next phase will include infrastructure development. Ultimately, Metro Smart City will feature technology hubs, residential areas, and leisure spaces. Through this project, Metrospeed positions itself as a leader in building sustainable communities that foster innovation and growth for future generations.
