    Essential Insights

TLDR – Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority

    1. The wireless industry’s customer satisfaction scores are rebounding in 2026, with a 3% increase to a record high of 77, especially among prepaid carriers.
    2. Mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and value brands are seeing larger satisfaction gains, driven by more aggressive promotions and economic stabilization.
    3. Samsung remains the top-rated phone brand at an satisfaction score of 81, while Apple drops slightly to 80; Google and Motorola see notable improvements.
    4. In wearables, Samsung and Apple are tied at the top with a score of 80, with Google Fitbit gaining significant ground, signaling shifting preferences in the market.

A Turnaround in Customer Satisfaction for Wireless Carriers

Customer satisfaction in the wireless industry is finally improving. After years of decline, recent data shows a brightening trend. The latest survey reveals that the industry’s average score has risen to 77 out of 100—a 3% increase. This is surprising, especially considering ongoing complaints about high prices and customer service issues. The turnaround indicates that carriers are making efforts to improve their services. For consumers, this could mean better coverage, more responsive support, and competitive offers. However, the improvement is not uniform across all companies. Still, this trend offers hope that the industry is responsive to customer needs.

Prepaid and Even Postpaid Markets Show Progress

The improvements are especially noticeable in the prepaid sector. MVNOs, or mobile virtual network operators, saw a 4% rise in satisfaction. They now hold scores of 77 for full-service providers and 79 for value brands. This is partly because these companies focus on promotions and family plans, making their offerings more attractive. Meanwhile, traditional postpaid carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile saw smaller gains, each improving by about 1%. They now score between 76 and 78 out of 100. Although these scores are still below those of prepaid providers, the upward trend shows a more positive attitude among customers. The economy’s stabilization seems to play a role, giving consumers more confidence in their choices.

Shifts in Mobile Devices and Wearables

In addition to wireless services, the hardware market is changing too. Samsung remains the top-rated phone brand with a satisfaction score of 81. Apple, which previously tied with Samsung, has dropped slightly to 80. Notably, Google and Motorola are gaining ground, with their scores rising to 77 each. These improvements suggest that consumers are enjoying better features and more reliable devices. The smartwatch market has seen shifts as well. Samsung and Apple now tie for the top spot with a score of 80. Meanwhile, Google Fitbit has jumped 8%, reaching 78, and other brands like Garmin and Google Pixel Watch hold scores of 76 and 74. Overall, users seem increasingly pleased with their choices, reflecting innovation and better value across the industry.
