    Top Highlights

    1. Meta is expanding its AI glasses with the Muse agent, enabling tasks like fitness planning and personal assistant functions, but privacy and security concerns remain significant.
    2. New Meta glasses feature longer battery life, audio-only options without cameras, and a FDA-approved hearing enhancement mode, but no major updates in camera or fitness capabilities.
    3. Meta’s collaboration with Lisa results in branded, collectible Meta glasses, while new designs and colors are widespread, but core privacy issues persist across the product line.
    4. Meta’s displays and hologram features show promising developments, like realistic avatars and improved app integrations, yet fundamental privacy and health feature gaps remain unaddressed.

The Rise of Muse AI on Glasses

Meta is now adding its Muse AI agent to its smart glasses. This agent is designed to assist users by answering questions, planning workouts, or managing tasks just by voice. It already works well on phones and devices, but now it’s on glasses too. Early reviews say Muse responds quickly and feels helpful. However, questions remain about privacy and security, since Muse can access personal accounts and data. Meta plans to improve privacy with new systems, but it’s clear that some concerns still exist about how personal information is protected. Overall, Muse could make glasses more useful for everyday tasks, making life more convenient.

    Cameras Off, Privacy Up

Meta introduced new Ray-Ban glasses without cameras. These camera-free models offer the same high-quality audio as previous versions and have longer battery life—up to 12 hours. This choice addresses privacy worries about “pervert glasses,” which often spark concern because of built-in cameras. Without cameras, these glasses focus on listening and audio features, making them less invasive. They still have smart controls like a touch bar and programmable buttons. Though these models cost more than some other glasses, many people might feel more comfortable wearing them in public, knowing they aren’t secretly recording everything. It’s a step toward balancing smart tech with privacy concerns.

Other New Features and What’s Next

Meta also added health and style updates. For example, it now offers FDA-cleared hearing enhancement, which helps people with mild hearing loss, but at an extra cost. There are also lots of new frame designs, including a special line with a celebrity, making glasses more fashionable and fun. However, there’s been little change in fitness features or improvements in privacy. The company has not announced major updates for its AR-display glasses or plans for health-focused devices. As more companies, like Google and Samsung, enter this space, competition will grow. This means new ideas and better choices for users, but also raises ongoing questions about data privacy and how much wearable tech can truly improve daily life.
