    Essential Insights

    1. Google is expanding Gemini in Chrome to new markets in Asia-Pacific, including Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam.
    2. The rollout follows earlier availability in Canada, India, and New Zealand, with most countries able to access it on desktop and iOS devices.
    3. Users can start chatting with Gemini via the “Ask Gemini” icon, which opens a sidebar integrated with Google services like Image Generator and Calendar.
    4. Japan is the exception, as Gemini on iOS isn’t available there yet, and users can opt to unpin the Gemini shortcut if desired.

Google expands Gemini in Chrome to users across Asia and the Pacific. After debuting in the US, the AI-powered chatbot now reaches markets including Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. This rollout follows earlier launches in Canada, India, and New Zealand.

Most users in these countries can access Gemini on both desktop Chrome browsers and iPhone or iPad apps. Japan is the exception, currently not supporting the iOS version. To try Gemini, users simply tap the “Ask Gemini” icon at the top right of their browser window. This opens a sidebar where they can chat with the AI across all open tabs.

Additionally, users can explore Google’s Nano Banana 2 image generator within the sidebar. The tool also integrates with Google apps, making it easier to add calendar events or search for information without switching platforms. Users who don’t want Gemini can easily remove the feature by right-clicking the shortcut.

This expansion reflects Google’s commitment to advancing smart cities and urban innovation. AI tools like Gemini can make city living smarter by enabling more efficient communication and improved access to information. By integrating AI into everyday tools, Google helps build a future where technology supports convenient, connected communities.
