    The Pokémon Company has officially announced the titles of the next generation games: Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves. This exciting reveal came during the 30th anniversary stream on Pokémon Day. Fans can eagerly anticipate their release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

    The new games promise to transport players to stunning islands and vast oceans. According to the Pokémon account on X, gamers will “team up with Pokémon to overcome challenges” while navigating beautiful landscapes. Notably, Wind and Waves will be accessible in 11 languages, including Brazilian Portuguese.

    A recently released trailer showcased three new starter Pokémon: Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua. These newcomers represent grass, fire, and water types, respectively. The trailer also featured beloved Pokémon like Pikachu, who donned stylish beachwear, alongside other familiar faces like Oddish. Enthusiasts can expect a brand-new region to explore, filled with a variety of water Pokémon.

    In addition to the new games, the Pokémon Presents stream included updates about upcoming titles. Pokémon Champions, a game destined for competitive play, will launch in April and later expand to iOS and Android, featuring cross-play compatibility across platforms. Additionally, fans can look forward to Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, arriving on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack in March.

    This 30th anniversary marks a significant milestone for the franchise, which first captured hearts in 1996 with the release of Pocket Monsters Red and Green in Japan. To celebrate, remakes of those classic games are now available on Switch for $20 each.

    Furthermore, Pokémon Pokopia, a life simulation spin-off, is set to debut on Switch 2 on March 5, providing gamers with even more adventures to enjoy. With these fresh offerings on the horizon, the Pokémon franchise shows no signs of slowing down. Fans are eager to dive into a world filled with new experiences and beloved characters.
