    Essential Insights

    1. Jae Young Joon is an entirely AI-generated influencer created by Luc Thierry, designed to engage fans in a realistic, parasocial fantasy despite being fake.
    2. Thierry emphasizes that followers often accept Jae’s persona as real, viewing interactions as part of a fictional role-play experience.
    3. AI influencers like Santos Walker and Caleb Ellis have recently gone viral for their elaborate, fictional red carpet appearances, raising concerns about deception and marketing ethics.
    4. The rise of AI-generated influencers prompts discussions about authenticity, the future of branded content, and the impact on unrealistic beauty standards in communities like the gay male audience.

AI Creators Say They Are Misunderstood

In recent months, some AI-generated influencers have gained popularity online. These virtual creators post pictures and videos that seem real but are entirely computer-made. For example, Jae Young Joon is a popular influencer with over 320,000 followers on Instagram. He shares photos of himself enjoying simple activities, like trying masks or singing karaoke. He also promotes his music and even appears at events like Coachella. However, Jae is not a real person. His profile states, “Human mind. AI generated,” making it clear he is a digital creation.

According to his creator, Luc Thierry, many followers still believe Jae is real. Thierry explains that some people treat these virtual models like TV characters or video game avatars. He hopes fans understand they can choose to see these influencers as fantasy or role-play figures. Thierry adds that his goal is to make fans feel connected and engaged, even though the characters are artificial.

Creators Collaborate and Spark Viral Moments

Thierry is part of a small group of creators who develop AI influencers mainly for a gay male audience. Interestingly, Thierry says most of Jae’s fans are women. The creators often chat online, supporting each other by liking and commenting on each other’s content. Recently, two AI characters, Santos Walker and Caleb Ellis, went viral after “going” to the premiere of a Hollywood movie. They appeared on a red carpet, sparking a lot of online attention.

However, the post caused some confusion. Many viewers thought it was a real event or sponsored content from the film studio. In fact, the creator behind Santos made the image without studio involvement. The post even told an elaborate story about Santos and Caleb arriving in Hollywood on a private jet. This incident started discussions about AI influencers and whether they could mislead audiences.

Debate Over AI Influencers and Their Effects

The rise of AI models has led to questions about honesty and ethics. Some people worry that virtual influencers might deceive followers or promote unrealistic standards. This concern is especially relevant in the gay community, where body image can be sensitive. Critics argue that AI-created characters with exaggerated physiques could influence viewers negatively.

Others see AI influencers as creative tools that can push stories and ideas forward. They believe these digital figures can entertain and inspire without the same concerns tied to real human influencers. As artificial influencers become more common, the conversation about their role and impact in social media continues to grow.
