Cyberpunk 2077 Update Introduces VRR and AutoDrive for Consoles

Cyberpunk 2077 receives another significant update, enhancing the gaming experience for console players. Update 2.3, set to release on July 17, brings vital features to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

First, the update adds official support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). This feature reduces screen tearing, especially beneficial when playing in performance mode. Gamers will enjoy smoother visuals, enhancing overall gameplay.

Additionally, the AutoDrive feature simplifies navigation across Night City. Players can now set a destination and let their vehicles drive automatically. This option allows for a more immersive experience, as players can enjoy the scenery while the car handles the journey. The new "wandering" mode even lets users explore aimlessly, encouraging exploration of the game’s vibrant world.

Furthermore, the update introduces four new vehicles linked to new side jobs. This expansion offers fresh content and keeps players engaged.

On the PC front, players will see support for AMD FSR 3.1, Intel XeSS 2.0, and HDR 10 Plus. Although AMD’s FSR 4 is on the way, it requires specialized drivers, set for release later.

In an exciting development, the update coincides with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Mac computers. This version will also feature the newly added content, ensuring all platforms benefit from CD Projekt Red’s latest enhancements.

As smart cities and urban innovation continue to grow, features like AutoDrive symbolize the potential of technology to improve everyday experiences. Gamers can now enjoy seamless travel and stunning visuals in a digital metropolis that mirrors the possibilities of real-world urban advancements.
