    How Dynamic Composition Works

    Instead of relying on fixed data, dynamic skills fetch facts when the agent asks for them. The key is to organize knowledge as a graph of strategies. Each strategy has its specific rules and only activates when needed. When a question comes in, the system runs through this graph, fetching relevant data across multiple hierarchies. For example, a revenue question pulls data from tables, schemas, and related pages, all at call time. This process makes sure the agent uses the freshest facts. It also filters requests to avoid unnecessary data retrieval. Consequently, the agent becomes more accurate and efficient. This approach does increase complexity but offers flexibility unmatched by static skills. It adapts quickly to system changes and reduces outdated or duplicated data.

    The Importance of Budget and Traceability

    One vital element of dynamic skills is managing costs. Unlike static skills, which can run as long as the author planned, dynamic skills have budgets based on tokens or processing steps. By ranking and cutting information intelligently within those budgets, systems stay affordable. Also, being able to trace how a result was generated is crucial. Implementing detailed logs and reports shows what facts, strategies, and filters contributed. This transparency helps identify issues and improve performance. When something goes wrong, teams can replay the decision process, see where stale data crept in, and fix it quickly. Using budgets and traceability turns the complex process of dynamic data retrieval into a managed, scalable system. It ensures accuracy while keeping costs predictable and operations transparent.
